We do not believe something in Scripture because we understand it. We believe it beecause God, who cannot lie, said it! The same is true for salvation. The Bible clearly teaches two truths that often seem to be a paradox. Those two truths are God's electon of those He has chosen and the reponsiblity of mankind to repent and turn to Christ as savior. God teaches both and we believe both!
