Starving, but not hungry enough

  • Mike Tumenello
  • 10 listens

Jesus used parables to teach lessons. The characters and situations used in parables are fictional, but they are used to teach non-fiction principles. In this parable, a man prepared a feast and invited his friends in to enjoy the meal, but he was not able to convince any of his friends to come. Each of the invited guests had some sort of excuse as to why they could not attend. The master then tells his servants to go bring in people from the “bad” part of town. Even after that, there was still room. The master then tells his servants to go find anyone they could find to fill the house. Bro. Tuminello explains that there were many people in this story that were hungry, but they were not hungry enough for them to be moved to come to the feast. We live in a starving world, but most are not hungry enough to be moved to respond to God. The church is starving for a lot of things, but we must be hungry for a sovereign move of God.
