Jesus answers the disciples question about what his coming would be like. In Matthew 24-25 he decribes what his coming will be like for unbelievers and believers. It is in this context that he states clearly that a Christian's faithfulness to his mission and the quality of their service will be judged by him. The parable of the talents focuses on the lazy servants judgment by the Master. Surprisingly the servant attempts to excuse himself. It may surprise you to know that your works will have to pass through the fire to test their value. It's not only that you serve, but it is that your faithful service produces tangible and observable results that are rewardable and recognizable. Are you really ready for Jesus' coming? Are you commited to him or is it all about your convenience?
