This is a recording of the Eleven O'clock worship service of the North Fayette United Methodist Church for November 15, 2009. This service is the second in a series of services in which the theme of Why we Worship and Why we do what we do in Worship is explored. In today's service Rev. Bill Koetje has the morning prayer of confession and leads in the Lord's Prayer. Before this prayer he speaks about the importance and centrality of prayer in the Christian Life. The sermon in the service is called "That They May Remember," recalling the Dueteronomic admonition to the Israelite people to remember their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and the mighty works of God to deliver them. Such remembering causes us to re-enact the covenant with God. Likewise, the act of "re-membering" causes the living Christ to be among us and to commune with us as we worship. Rev. Mike Daniell leads the music and Mrs. LuAnn Latzanich is the organist/pianist and accompanist for the service.
