The Compassionate God calls his uncompassionate servant, Jonah the prophet to proclaim what amount to salvation. Jonah's hatred of his enemies causes him to run from the will of God. God pursues his rebellious prophet almost to his death to accomplish his sovereign purpose in the lives of some pagan sailors and ultimately for the good of a whole city
