Jesus comes to influence his world system. He does so not by bullying power. Not by possessed power. But by modeling the true power of humility to the system and those in it. He changes his world by who he is. Jesus comes and embodies God’s ideal. This is different from declaring God’s ideal. Those in Moses seat could say it but they did not live it. Mat 23:1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, Mat 23:2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; Mat 23:3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them. Mat 23:4 "They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger.
