Some of us have personally experienced adoption, either by being adopted as a child or adopting a child yourself or someone in your extended family who has done one or the other. But the truth is, if you are a born-again follower of Jesus Christ – you have experienced the greatest adoption of all, in being adopted into the family of God by God Himself. The mark we bear as adopted members of God’s family is the mark of God’s grace. Jesus suffered that pain of the mark of his grace on our lives. From his suffering we now carry the indelible mark his ownership that can never be erased. Everyone of us who had been chosen and adopted by God bear that mark.
