What do doctors offices, grocery stores and traffic lights all have in common? They all make you wait. Waiting is something we have to endure in pretty much every area of life. Waiting is not something which we are unaccustomed to, and yet we often respond inappropriately when called upon to do so. What most humans fail realize is that waiting is not only a necessary evil, it is also a necessary good. Rash decisions are usually bad ones. Quick reactions are usually destructive to relationships. And even when good things happen too quickly, we usually don't appreciate them as much as we do when we are forced to wait. As a result of the sinful nature of man, we tend to get in a hurry in regards to getting what we want. A Personal Look: Is waiting something you typically find to be an easy or difficult thing to do? Why? Have you ever made a quick decision financially, relationally, etc. that you later regretted? How might your life be different today had you chosen to wait? In your opinion, what is the most difficult thing about waiting? What are some things that God may want to teach us about ourselves through the waiting process? Based on your actions, do you believe the words, confident trust accurately describe your Christian walk? Additional Scriptures: Psalms 37:7, Proverbs 20:22, Acts 1:3-5, Romans 8:21-26 & Isaiah 64:1-4
