As we continue in Acts 16 this Sunday we pick up with the persecution Paul and Silas are facing for driving out a spirit of divination from a slave girl. The harassment turns up a notch as the crowds join in with the slave girl's owner and the magistrates order a beating of these two missionaries accompanied with time in the slammer. Friends, how do you handle difficult situations? Do you rejoice in the trials you encounter? Do you place your hope and expectation in the Lord? Or is it easier to complain and grumble? Do you find yourself seeking other remedies with struggles? All throughout the Bible we see God's sovereignty. Over and over He ordains great trials and uses these for His purposes.
