God isn't just active in heaven, but is intimately steering human events and intervening in our affairs for good! John the Baptist came, not be be the light, but to bear witness to the arrival of the God who became flesh and to prepare the way for Him. John cleared away spiritual obstacles and straightened out crooked ways so Christ could offer grace to a repentant people. And that's what His ministers are to do today. And that's His goal for all of us--to be prepared for a holy visitation of Christ!
