There are a lot of people following us and they govern themselves based on our actions. Many hearing Jesus were astonished-did not mean they were impressed- but actually they were miserable because they recognized that Jesus brings a change to their way of thinking, and their way of functioning. And they were offended, and displeased with Him. And they wanted to reduce Him and keep Him at their level - the carpenters boy, Mary's son. Familiarity breeds unbelief- Even though the disciples are with Jesus they did not understand Him they are wanting to send the crowd of people away from Jesus who is the bread of life. They ere not moving in faith because they say they can not feed all the people. As long as we are in the house we talk like the rest, we got the Christian language down, but when under pressure we talk like the rest of the pagans - selfish and narrow minded. So Jesus was trying to teach the disciples that 1) They really did not care about the people they wanted to send them home and Jesus was all about the people 2)They did not know who Jesus really was. So He sends them away and the winds we contrary unto them and Jesus waited till the forth watch. And Jesus would have walked past them on the sea, the disciples cries out but they did not even know who they were crying out to. If they had recognized Him they would have cried His name. In vs. 52 states their heart is harden- which is to became petrified, which means that over the course of events their hearts had begun to shut down to the fact that they were walking with the Messiah. So that is why it is some important for us not to become common with whomever God has connected us to, because they are the ones set in place to unlock our potential. His own inner circle did not recognize Him but the entire town does. We need to ask ourselves who has earned the right to speak into our lives but the answer is the one that God has designated. One of the greatest tools for the harvest is the wisdom of God and God has people is our lives that can speak to the crisis in our lives so we can avoid the holes, and the destruction that enemy has set up. One of the greatest prayers we could pray would be Lord make me recognize the people you have placed in my life and what do they have in them for me How we see our deliver has everything to do with our deliverance; How we see our provided, has everything to do with our provision; Our revelation of God determines our expectation from God.
