Paul anticipates the questions that arise from those who have understood what he has taught so far in Romans 5. In particular he anticipates the suggestion that we should go on sinning to demonstrate how great God's grace is. He shows that we are dead to sin and alive in Christ. This amazing truth - that we are free from sin's tyranny - is what makes his injunction to righteousness possible and logical.
