In the Old Testament, we can follow the progression of meeting places between God and people through altars, the tabernacle, the temple and then the synagogue in the New Testament. But when Jesus came, He established the Church and promised that He would build it. His Church is His invitation for people to come to Him. He works through His Church to bring His power, love, salvation and freedom to those who do not know Him. We are laborers together with Him, and we get to see amazing things happen as He transforms people through us, His Church.
