Can you recall a time when you were truly out of options and in a position of desperation? What were the circumstances and what did it feel like? How did you respond? You may be in such a time now. What are the circumstances and how are you responding? Odds are you have already been praying; what hope do you find in the story of 2 Kings 4? What happens to your priorities when you are in a desperate situation? Or, what things become most important to you? What are some reasons why it is difficult for us to believe that God will provide for our needs? Is it possible that we have difficulty distinguishing between our wants and our needs? God answered the prophet�"s widow with a miracle but she still had a role to play. What are other ways, in addition to miracles, that God might choose to answer desperate prayers? What are some of the roles He might ask us to play in those answers?
