Paul continues his discussion of what the Body of Christ is to look like. This section starts by stating that believers are to be imitators of God, walking in love. The reason is because of what Jesus has done for us through giving of himself. Paul then continues this discussion by once again drawing distinction between the culture we live in and how a believer stands out. He states that we are light and that our light should expose the darkness of the world around us. He also states that as we discern the will of God and understand His plan for us our speech should be characterized by thanksgiving, always and in everything! Are you an imitator of God?
