Jesus, the Son of God came to earth to rescue us and reclaim us. He died a death as a substitute for us, in our place. Like a stunt double in a movie script that requires we jump out a helicopter as a cop car crashes into it. But what Jesus did is more like a death double, becoming a man like us in an earthsuit. Secondly Jesus came to the rescue by interceding for us like a priest and satisfying the justified anger of God for our sin. He also reclaimed us, his creation by disarming Satan and his weapons of mass and complete destruction having the power of death. Jesus has and is uniting believers, whom He sanctifies into Godâ€"s family. We can become his brothers whom Heâ€"ll never disown unlike Wayne the "butthead" brother of the tv show “The Wonder Years."
