We began a series from the Good Samaritan text in Luke 10:25-37. This opening message just focused on verse 30 (and Proverbs 27:10). The gist of the message was simply showing us that everyone needs a neighbor. We'll all go through times in life when we need someone to show compassion & selflessness to us. Just like the Jewish man in the story who had absolutely no control over the negative circumstance he found himself in, many of our students have things they can't control: body shape, availability of food, temperamental parents, socioeconomic status, and on and on...by us blindly (& selfishly) going through our days at school, work, or even church, we miss out on the "fields that are ripe unto harvest" (John 4) - we just need to open up our eyes!
