Our fourth core value is authority. While God created us to be free, He also recognized that for freedom and individual rights and dignity to be preserved, authority must be established and a free people must be "governed". It is vitally important that those who are free recognize and submit to this God-ordained authority. Without this submission, freedom degenerates into chaos, and authority is usurped. For a free people to fully enjoy the benefits of freedom, they must submit themselves to authority. This self-restraint is the cornerstone that preserves freedom for all.
