Always Hungry, Always Thirsty

  • Tim Hartzell
  • 23 listens

There is a hunger and thirst that should never be satisfied in us - the desire to know the truth. Sometimes the truth is pleasant - but often it is painful. The truth exposes us to ourselves. It takes away our ability to hide, interpret, or defend. The truth is like looking at a picture of myself. It is stark and unforgiving. It reveals all of my defects. The truth reveals my broken condition. While it is initially painful, it is the first and most necessary step toward healing. Without the truth, I make decisions based on false premises and then suffer the consequences.
