The Wayward Lad & The Waiting Dad

  • Tim Nobles
  • 56 listens

This is the year of Connection at FBC and for the next few weeks, we will be studying in detail the parable of the Prodigal Son. We call it the "Prodigal Son" but it very well could be called the "Wonderful Daddy" because the word "Father" is used 11 times in this parable. This parable speaks primarily about the lavishness or the extravagance of God's love. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson, American essayist, philosopher, poet who called this the "best short story ever told in or out of the Bible." And I would agree, because it has it all in it. It speaks about family, feelings, friends, faith, and it is a story about a young man who said, "I want my part and I am leaving." This son left his father's house to go to a far away country.
