Our situations in life are planned and controlled by God. When we refuse to accept God's will for us to endure these situations, we experience sinful discontentment. There are times when our discontentment is a reflection of our desire to see God glorified, but most of the time our true motivation is revealed--to usurp God's authority and be in control of our lot in life. This is sin.
