What about drinking alcohol? I know Jesus made water to wine but I also know their wine was way different than today's alcohol. Should a Christian get a tattoo? What is taboo is as changeable as the wind. Dancing, makeup, riding a motorcycle, and going to the movies (even those rated G!) have been considered taboo in our culture. What does not change is God and His desire to call us to Himself. Therefore, while we should pay some attention to things taboo in order to foster unity and love within the Body, we are bound to follow only Christ, and not social norms for their own sake. It requires prayer, self-control, and the help of the Holy Spirit.
