One Team, One Goal

  • Jim Crosby
  • 35 listens

Lay Leader Jim Crosby's sermon was entitled "One Team, One Goal." The message was centered around team building and playing together as a team. He used the example of Florida High's teamwork that led to a perfect season as an example and inspiration for our congregation in building this newly forming church. A film clip from the movie "Facing the Giants" showed an exhausted team that was playing for the state championship, being asked to give the coach four more downs. Jim equated those four downs to the core values of the church. 1st down is worshipping together, 2nd down: learning together; 3rd down: serving together; 4th down; playing together. Good Samaritan church is asking its members to give the Lord four more downs. The Lay Leader then challenged each member of the congregation to invite at least one person to our next service. He also pointed out that each of the members who attend the New Member Class next Saturday (9-12 a.m. at Data Maxx) will make history by becoming charter members of this dynamic church.
