Questions People Ask

  • Betsy Ouellette
  • 52 listens

Today Pastor Betsy Ouellette spoke on "Questions People Ask." She said that while there is no way we can cover everything and get a full understanding of these religions in a short study, this material is designed to get us thinking and talking about other beliefs. Since we now live in a global village it is important to understand what other people believe in order to communicate with them and to share the gospel message. She pointed out three modes of thought concerning God and salvation. The Pluralist perspective says that all of these religions are headed in the same direction and all paths lead to God. It is a way of honoring all religions. The second view is that of the Exclusivist. These believers contend that if you don't believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation you will end up in hell. They make allowances for those who have never heard about Jesus. The third view is the Inclusivist. This view contends that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light, but makes allowances for those other than Christians who sincerely seek God and try to honor him with their lives, but don't know Jesus. These three views will be discussed in more depth and a video will be shared in the Home Groups. For those wishing to join a Home Group they are listed on this website or you can contact one of the pastors.
