God alone saves sinners, not baptism. The water in baptism is not Holy Water, it is just water. Baptism signifies a living, vital, organic union with Christ, a union in both His death and His resurrection. Baptism sets believers apart from the world. It is a sign for who belongs to the Jesus Christ. It is also a rite of passage into the visible church.
