As the Christmas story unfolds in the Gospel of Matthew, we find Joseph in a difficult situation: the woman to whom he is betrothed is pregnant, supposedly by another man (we the readers know that the Holy Spirit has been at work, but Joseph doesn't know this yet). What will he do? As Joesph plots the path ahead, he acts righteously and teaches us to do the same by his example.
