This text compels us to reckon with the condition of our own hearts. Do we pridefully play the victim in every struggle? Or do we perceive that the universe's center is located somewhere far beyond us, and that the whole of life is maintained and manipulated by a Personal Power Whose primary values often seem alien to ours? Will we emerge into an awakened state of the governance of God over the universe? Will we humbly forget ourselves in the splendor of God? Or will we crawl inward into our woes, and sigh in the echoes of our self-entranced prison? Let us pray to God, and ask Him to fill our minds and hearts with an expansive, breathtaking, and self-forgetting vision of His nature and character.
