Please turn with me in your Bibles to the New Testament Book of James. For todays scripture, we are going to be reading James chapter 5, verses 7 - 16. Many times in life, we all have to face events and circumstances that we never expected or even wished to encounter. Many times in life, we experience events and circumstances that bring us great pain and heartache too. Many times these events can disrupt our lives and shake us to our core. And many times these sorts of things are beyond our control and well beyond our understanding too. The Bible has a lot to say about our tough times, and starting today and over the next few weeks, we are going to be exploring the scriptures and growing in the knowledge of what Gods Word instructs us to do when these times come in our lives. There is no other way about it folks; Life is and will be difficult at times. It happens to the good and to the bad. There are no alternative routes to this, and we are not given a vote in the matter either. But our strongest resource when these times come (and come they will) is God himself and His Holy Word. As we begin this series today on Tough Times, we begin by studying “Our Reactionâ€� or Our Response to when they do come. In chapter 5 of the book of James, we are given instruction on our reaction. And thats where weâ€"ll start today. Lets listen closely as we read our scripture for today, James chapter 5, verses 7 - 16.
