The book of Proverbs is one of the most practical, direct, and simple books of the Bible. All the deep truths of the Bible are boiled down into simple, memorable truths that are extremely relevant to everyday life decisions. Marriage and sexual discretion are given much attention in Proverbs - because they both have a profound effect on our well-being. If godly wisdom is followed in decisions of marriage and sex - they are a tremendous source of blessing from God. If we give into foolish impulses and ungodly choices, they can be the source of great pain and suffering. In the scriptures, the relationship between Jesus and the Church is compared to a bride and groom - a reminder of what a joy that kind of relationship is to Jesus!
