Jesus demand that we love our enemies is actually a call to evangelize them with the love of God. In order to do that we must abandon our own fears and hatred of those we hate and those who hate us. That fear and hatred are obstacles to the gospel propagation among those who are the most difficult to reach -- those whom we dislike and those who dislike us. Reaching those people with the love of Christ is essential for the accomplishment of Christ's mission. And we must not stand in the way of that mission as an obstacle. Rather, we must embrace that mission as our own.
