One of the images used to describe Jesus in John 1 and throughout scripture is light. The light shines in the darkness of the world and in our own hearts, illuminating much about ourselves and who God truly is. As 2 Corinthians 4:6 states, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”
