Crossing from the familiar to the unfamiliar in our lives is not always comfortable, but that is what is asked of us by Christ. The comfort zone we find ourselves in need to have the walls knocked down. This is no easy task, as the crossing is bombarded with the storms that cross our paths. These storms are a sure sign that the path we are on is one that is Christ centered. We are not alone during this storm, as Christ, who had calmed the angry winds as they crossed over to the other side of the sea, will calm the storms around us. But Christ, once over, did not stay seated comfortably in the boat, he got out and stepped onto land, and once there, the man possessed by legion of demons came running to him. Christ released this man from this demonic force, and set him free. If Christ had not stepped out, this could not have happened. Christ truly is the supreme example of stepping out the boat, the flesh, and stepping into new opportunities to serve.
