Forsaking Safe Individualism

  • Ewan Kennedy
  • 83 listens

This week we move into the 2nd half of Ephesians and begin to see more and more of the practical implications of the "mystery" of God's will that Ephesians is so concerned with. We'll spend the next three Sundays looking at 4:1-17 and what God has to say to us about the Church. The first seven verses of chapter 4 are about Community. Because the Church is for the healing of the world and the means by which God, "unites all things in in him, things in heaven and things on earth," then God calls us to forsake our culture's safe-individualism and enter the roller-coaster ride of community as he defines it. As always, God's Word isn't pie-in-the-sky sentimentality, it's realistic, honest, and freeing. As always our worship service, in all of it's elements, will focus on considering the the message of text before us (4:1-7)
