On a day when we recall the terrible events of 10 years ago, the Old Testament reading from Exodus 14 brings to a close a story of horrific violence and death as Israel escapes slavery in Egypt. But that story that ends with Egyptian bodies on the shore is contrasted with Jesus' command to forgive over and over. How are we to respond to the evil and brokenness in the world? How should Christians live in a post 9-11 world?
