We often do the things we know we shouldn't do, and we don't do those things we know we should. This is not a 21st century phenomenon. The Apostle Paul spoke about it in the first century. People have been battling their sinful desires since the Garden of Eden. Praise God that He has given us victory over our sinful desires, and our sinful behavior, in and through Jesus Christ. By renewing our relationship with God each day, asking forgiveness, and standing in the victory Christ won on the cross for you and for me, we can overcome our sinful natures and begin leading lives that are pleasing to God. This is a process and because of our natures, it takes time. Rather than standing in Satan's accusations of us, we must immediately turn to Christ and ask for the strength and will to avoid the temptation. If we have already fallen, we must immediately turn in repentance and ask God's forgiveness through Christ. It is immediately available to us! Praise God! Don't wait for a season of depression and anxiety. Deal with God now and move forward in His grace and the power of His Holy Spirit.
