When we think about ministry there are often more reasons to be discouraged than to be encouraged. Ministry is war, war with Satan over the truth of the gospel. He is a crafty adversary, and uses many different means to try and defeat the minister. How can we move forward in the midst of trials and suffering? When we face discouragement in ministry we must pause to consider what success in ministry actually looks like. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 4, reminds the church at Corinth what ministry is all about and what it means to be a minister.
