Psalm 4 was written by David on what may be the same occasion as Psalm 3. Some have called it an “evening psalmâ€� with its mention of bed, rest, sleep. How well do you think you could sleep if your life was threatened? David finds peace in his being set apart by God. By faith in Christ you can know these blessings that come to those for whom He died: 1. Set apart for Godâ€"s hearing. (Vs. 1) 2. Set apart for Godâ€"s calling. (Vss. 2-3) 3. Set apart from Godâ€"s enemies. (Vss. 4-5) 4. Set apart for Godâ€"s goodness. (Vss. 6-7) 5. Set apart for Godâ€"s safe dwelling. (Vs. 8)
