The Word of the Lord instructs us to cease from evil and learn to do well. Sometimes people become frustrated when they try so hard to change and meet with problems. Learning to live the Christian life can take a lifetime. Our ability to cease from evil depends on our ability to overcome evil with good. Regardless of how many times we may find ourselves failing in our efforts to do well, we must always remember that success for the Christian depends on our ability to overcome. Only God can give us that ability. In order to endure until the end and be saved, we must learn to resist evil by drawing closer to God, and we must keep trying to do better no matter how many times we mess up. Heaven will be filled with overcomers.
