Hindsight is 20/20. How many times have you looked back on a situation and wished you had known then what you know now? The people who lived with Jesus must have thought many times. It was only after the crucifixion and resurrection that His followers began to understand all He said and did while he was with them. When we read the stories of Jesus in the New Testament it is from the perspective of writers looking back on events that only made sense if you know how the story ends. What was true for the people in Jesus day is still true for us. It is often difficult to see God in the middle of challenging circumstances. We can be sure, however, that when Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us, He is true to His promise. God is among us.
