No one likes to eat humble pie. It tastes so…earthy. However, humility before God is a good thing. In fact, it is wonderful. So what does this mean? When we think less of ourselves, recognizing our place, acknowledging our weaknesses and failures and our need for God, we have the opportunity to see His power, His greatness, His amazing work in our lives. As Peter finishes his letter to these early Christians he writes about many things. But essentially Peter ends where he began: we will face difficulties, trials, and suffering, but God will be with us, will deliver us, and will care for us. Knowing this we can certainly stand firm!
