In this passage we see Paul drawing a contrast between two principles – light and darkness. Christians are to be vessels of light and to avoid being deceived by the children of Darkness. The light brings goodness while havingt a life characterized by darkness brings disgrace and the wrath of God. But you and I need to reflect all those things that light brings with it - warmth, security, clarity, and vision.
