There is nothing but silence between "Born of a virgin...and Suffered under Pontius Pilate" in the Apostles Creed. However, these verses in Hebrews speak of Jesus' life on earth, the redemptive purpose in suffering, and ultimately of his supreme example of endurance-- "the stuff in the middle" between OUR birth and OUR death--the journey, the pain, and the question of WHETHER or NOT we will endure really does matter to God.
