When I was a newly baptized Christian in my senior year of college, one Sunday evening I dragged a couple of fraternity brothers to hear Phillip Slate's sermon at the Highland Church of Christ (Memphis), on the subject of "Once Saved, Always Saved?" These friends had a strong view in one direction and I had a strong view in another. It says something about the topic that they agreed to go to church with me on a Sunday evening! In the 4th message of the God's Love, God's Judgment series we are going to wrestle with this difficult question: can a Christian lose his or her salvation? I will try to do scriptural justice to this very emotional and often polarizing subject. My foundational text will be Hebrews 10:19-31. Why not ask a believing friend who is not part of a church to come along with you to West Houston. Tell 'em the message topic. You never know, they might be intrigued. As always, bring your Bibles!
