There are many congregations today who would lay claim to being a "model church." Only one could make that claim with divine sanction, and that was the church in Thessalonica. In spite of the fact that it was a young congregation, this assembly had proven their faithfulness to the point where Paul and his church-planting team wrote this glowing commendation by way of opening their letter.
